Fractional accounting operations
Outsourced controller-level support for companies that don't need a full-time controller. Monthly reporting, close oversight, and the day-to-day work that keeps the back office running. You get a person who knows your books, not a ticket queue.
Custom automations and internal tools
Workflows, dashboards, and small applications, built one of two ways. If the Microsoft stack you already license can carry the job, it gets built there: Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, Excel. If it can't, it gets built as custom software, hosted and maintained the same way Steda is.
Monthly reviews
A recurring look at the books for owners who have a bookkeeper but no one checking the work. Reconciliations verified, unusual activity flagged, and a short written summary of what changed and what needs a decision.
Project consulting
Fixed-scope engagements with a defined end. Data cleanup, chart of accounts restructuring, reporting packages, reconciliation systems, month-end close automation, and AP/AR workflow. Scoped in writing before it starts.
How we work
Fixed-scope proposals, not hourly. The scope, the deliverable, and the price are written down before work starts. If the scope changes, we write a new one.
Most projects land in two to four weeks. Longer engagements get split into pieces that each deliver something you can use on their own.
No software you don't need. Most companies are already paying for more capability than they use, so the first look is always at what you own. When that genuinely can't do the job, a purpose-built tool usually beats one more subscription you carry forever.
Handoff is hands-on. Whatever gets built comes with documentation and a walkthrough with the people who'll use it. No part of it should depend on me still being around.
Monthly engagements start at $850 per month. Projects are scoped and quoted individually, starting at $3,500. Nothing begins without a number you have already agreed to.
Our product
Steda is a cloud fixed asset register that works with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. It replaces the depreciation spreadsheet: locked periods, an append-only audit trail, and journal entries posted back into the company file.
We built it, we sell it, and we support the accountants who use it every month. That's why the systems advice here is worth something. It comes from shipping and maintaining one.

I'm Jimmy. I've spent my career closing books at small companies. Most of those closes ran on workbooks held together by memory, built by someone who had left the company years earlier. I started SMB Solved because recommending a system and then watching nobody implement it stopped being useful. SMB Solved does both halves: the accounting work itself, and the tools that make it hold up. I work out of Sugar Land, Texas.
